a lot of the affiliate programs that have per email payouts run their own mailings. you damn well know most of them are double optins. so you're better off contracting a mailing for them to send it to your site. much more effective than having a small spot on a newsletter dont ya think?

there are no legit email lists, unless you collect them from your own site. people opt-in to lists to be spammed by the site they opted in on. not to be sold off to other people.

even if they check "from time to time we have offers from other vendors, would you like to know about them" - those should still be sanctioned from the site that they opted in on. not just blindly sold to anyone who wants to pay for the list.

pathetic.

I don't think he was looking to buy an actual list of email addresses. I think he wanted to buy an ad in a mailer or have a newsletter sent out advertising his sites. There's nothing wrong with these imho.
