    The BUSH Thread - Everything's Zen





    Bush was one of my favorite bands in the 90's whom I was able to see a few times when they were active back then, and I was able to meet and speak to Gavin Rossdale once at a fan show in the 00's that No Doubt was playing (Bush wasn't playing, but Gavin was hanging around with his wife, Gwen Stefani, whose band No Doubt was playing the festival). Always liked that band and Gavin.

    One of the best Bush-esque shows that I ever saw was after an X-Biz Summer Expo in Las Vegas a few years back, when Gavin Rossdale's band did a concert out by the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel the night after the Expo ended (I stayed in Vegas an extra day just to catch the show - I had sushi before the show at a table next to JFK, lol):

                      God, this brings me back. I used to work at fetish clubs when I was in college, and would hit the 'early' concerts in Providence (where I was going to school) before heading out to Boston for the night to work. Bush did a mini concert / show for a local radio station in the late afternoon that I went to, and on my way out one of the bouncers asked me where I was going. Told him I had to jet to work at the club (can't even remember the name of the place now). Bouncer got all flirty and asked me what I did, so I gave him all the dirty details.

                      Bush showed up at the club that night and watched the fetish stage most of the night. Dirty perves. ;)

                                                                  The vibe was nice that night. The X-Biz Summit had just wound up (with 100+ daytime temps), and it was a beautiful evening outside by the pool with an intimate crowd, and some damn good bud being passed around. Good times...

                                                                                                  I think I've managed to miss his shows in about 6 different cities, where I'm always there a week before or a week after, heh.

                                                                                                  Still listen to many a Bush tune daily and feel he was always under-rated.

                                                                                                  His song with Apocalyptica "End of me" is really good too, though doesn't stand up to Corey Taylor's track with them "I'm not Jesus"
