The bigger problem is expectations. He wrote the first few books in complete obscurity with no pressure to deliver. Now, if his next book isn't the most well-received piece of literature since The Bible it will be called a failure. He is in an unwinnable situation where his own success has become too high a bar for him to be measured against. People don't want a B+ or even an A+ from him... they want the best book that they have ever read, and then the next one has to be better than that.
I wish him luck... and I'll be reading them all, if he ever finishes them.
