There are many different ways to value a domain:
1. As a "present value" based on a multiple of cash flow. This varies depending on how the rate of return is calculated, and on the quality of the name. The usual range is somewhere between 2X-12X (X = annual revenue). For very risky cash flow, it can be closer to 1X.
2. For the type-in traffic (which also gets to cash flow at some point).
3. For the potential brand. This is the trickiest and involves many factors: potential value in web commerce, extension (.COM, etc), length, alliteration, pronounceability, other trademarks, etc.. These dollars values can range from thousands of dollars to close to a million dollars.
In this case, #3 applies. The value in commerce is high, because dating and webcams are businesses very well suited to the web. Add in these characteristics --.COM, 8 letters, alliteration, sounds good --and you begin to describe a valueable domain.
Ultimately, it's worth what someone will pay.
