The Porn Kingdom. All hail the King! (Content? Traffic? or ???)
There has been a long heated discussion about the "King" of the industry. Content or Traffic. I would like to expand on this for a moment. I came up with the saying "Content is King. Traffic is Queen. Together they can build a Kingdom.", however, in today's industry this needs to be broadened and redefined a tad. You heard it here first...
Content is King. Traffic is Queen. Transactions are the Castle. Industry is the Land. They are all part of a successful Kingdom.
All of these must exist and be functioning properly in order for this Kingdom to thrive.
Free Porn is a Leper. Diseased, and if you let them in, eventually the entire Kingdom will fall apart, limb by limb.
I can go on all night about this, however I think you get the point. We are all part of this industry and need to start pulling together. Working toward a common goal. If we stopped funding free porn, unless certain terms are met, if we start using our legal legs to run down the thieves as a whole. If we start qualifying our traffic and stop giving away the farm. If we start screening our affiliates for potential scammers / fraud. If we start policing ourselves as we've been talking about for years now. We might stand a chance of pulling out of this downward trend. If we don't start pulling together, we can expect a very rocky future for all of us. Free sites, paysites, tube sites... It doesn't matter at that point, it will all go away. Guaranteed. It takes WORK to do this. Everyone has to participate. Those who do not work toward the common goals of the industry, who are out for a quick buck and themselves should be shut out entirely.
We built this industry from the ground up. We'd be doing a disservice to ourselves and our trade if we just sit on our rich asses and watch it get torn apart and sent down the tubes.
