Some of these video sites pay uploaders $$ per 1000 views, not something that most adult tubes do.
I'm not so sure that I agree though that licensing x% of content should give you a free pass for piracy when 10*x% of your other content on the site is pirated. I know of quite a few tubes - and not just Manwin owned - which come up #1 for niche terms (one even allows 10 views a day and then requires a premium account - to view pirated content. If you need to knwo the name I'll gladly email to you, let me know. They are huge in this niche) and are full of pirated stuff. But when I say search Google for "horror movies" I see a bunch of affiliate review sites or other authority sites on the first page. There is only one result which indirectly has pirated movies and that is Youtube at #4.

I know if I opened up hollywoodtube.com and then magically within three days 5,000 hollywood films popped up along with an invite for regular users to upload hollywood films the shit would hit the fan. More than likely the SWAT team would be breaking down my door and dragging my ass to prison. If by some miracle my hollywoodtube.com site survived long enough to make it to #1 in Google for terms such as "horror movies", ":comedy films", etc. I'd bet you $1,000,000 it wouldn't stay up there for more than a month. It's just strange the disparity between the two industries.
