Actually I relish the "idiot" role. I find it very revealing when people, who don't get the more subtle point that I am making, classify me as an "idiot". It lets me know where I stand.
The fact that people "get" a very very old, very obvious and well worn joke is certainly not a source of surprise to me. Is it surprising to you? EVERYONE on the thread got the joke. Some of them just chose to talk about something else. I have a ton of old "jew" jokes, and everybody would "get" them. I have jokes about pretty much every single ethnicity on earth, and everyone would get them.
Did you think this joke was somehow new and clever? I'm curious....
