I agree. I have always thought of the board as a water cooler of sorts. You talk about business and things related to the business, but sometimes you talk about other things. There's only one sure-fire way to deal with trolls: ban anyone that responds to them.
If I was a mod I would ban for a minimum of a month anyone that responded to an obvious troll, permaban anyone that made a thread about an obvious troll.
And I would never, EVER ban trolls.
Trolls would become a teaching aid instead of a nuisance, helping to cull the weak and ignorant from the herd until the forum would be populated only the wisest of the wise, the elite, and we would then build an utopian society and prance surrounded by unicorns and teddy bears under double rainbows for all eternity amen.
