fleshlight should come out with a version that creates a charge from the up and down motion so you can charge your phone as you whack off.

After looking at your product and then looking at the other products others have mentioned I have this to say:
Super cheap products with just the hand crank lack the ability to provide a battery backup.
The Amazon product costs more and will not charge an iPhone 5, which this product will. Also that Amazon product had just as many bad reviews as good ones. Most center around it breaking after several uses. At $59.99 you'd think it wouldn't break for years, if not a decade.
When people LOL at you reaching 500% of your goal I LOL at them. They seem to think the remaining $70K~ will just go to a bonus check for somebody and fail to realize that each person that donated will be receiving the product.
Congrats on a successful funding!
My question: If I fully charge the battery and then put it on a shelf. How long will it take before the battery loses half of its charge?

My bad. I understood it as this iteration of the product was already being listed and sold elsewhere. Had to scroll to the bottom of your Kickstarter to realize that this was to go into production.
Again, my bad, I was wrong.

There are definitely lots of costs involved in getting 3000 of these chargers and shipping them to the backers for FREE. On top of costs for molds UL certifications, customs etc.
The depletion rate is the same as any standard lithium polymer based battery. I believe it is 5% loss over 24 hours and then about 3-4% per month so 10 months for 50% roughly - these are under optimal conditions, power turned off, and warm weather.
I hope that helps but there are so many factors for depletion of charge on the battery.ICQ 115433750Comment
