Yes. I am talking about non English speakers. They learn "proper" pronunciation and stock definitely sounds different ("shorter") than stalk.
I mean even more ridiculous is "feel" and "fill" - EVERY non English speaker would notice the HUGE difference between those. Since this is in the test I assume in some parts of US it sounds the same? Might be, but not for foreigners as they learn "standard" pronunciation.
