"kids"?
One was in his 20's the other 19.
Most guys I knew had left home and were on their own by 17. (I graduated when I was 17 and was living at my own place with my 25 year old girlfriend at the time)
I certainly wouldn't consider a 19 year old grown man a "kid". And definitely not a 20 something year old.
They are MEN (hell, people didn't even live past their 30's not that long ago in history...these guys would have been considered "old" a couple hundred years ago) not kids.
