No arresting authority has to present evidence to the general public to arrest someone, or ask people to be on the look out for someone. Evidence is presented to either a grand jury or judge to get a warrant/indictment, and then to a judge, jury and defense attorneys (in advance) during the accused's trial, should there be one. Go look at the FBI's most wanted list. Names, pictures, crimes....no evidence presented. And if the aunt is right that there's no evidence, then they should have turned themselves in and let due process happen. No evidence = not guilty, which would be determined in a court. As baddog said, the dead one certainly gave indication otherwise, though..
