I bet this made his current stay in prison a little easier.

Jailed quarterback Michael Vick can keep nearly $20 million in bonus money he received from the Atlanta Falcons following a ruling Monday by a federal judge.

Jailed Vick has been told he can keep $20 million bonus money he received from Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons sought to recover the bonuses after Vick pleaded guilty to federal charges in a dogfighting operation. The bonuses were paid from 2004-2007.

A special master ruled in October that the Falcons were entitled to recover the bonuses. The Falcons argued that Vick used proceeds from a contract he signed in 2004 to finance his illicit activities.

Well, he's lucky that the parties victimized in this case aren't able to sue him. Had he been running an illegal human fighting ring, they would all sue him for a piece of that 20 mil.

That's a ridiculous argument. So if a player buys pot and smokes it, his team should be able to get his 5 million dollar signing bonus back? Please. It's his money. At least make the argument that he wasn't able to fulfill his contractual obligations.

Please. I hate Vick as much as the next man, but you can rape and kill someone and not get that kind of time or lose any money except for court costs. Many animals are killed in much less humane ways so you can fill your fat belly, yet your not calling for heads to roll when you eat KFC. Worry about people that are a danger to your kids and your energy will be much better spent.

what is the benefit to him if he gave away 5,000,000.00 to the humane society?

are people going to like him again? are they going to say "well, he made a mistake, but did the right thing in the end, so i think he's an ok guy"

his reputation is destroyed forever. his career is over. there is no benefit to him to give away money other than the tax benefits.

The benefit is that more animals could be taken care of with an influx of $5mil. I couldn't care less what people think of him afterwards.

At our last local Pugfest (yes, we have Pugfests ;) ) your dog could pee on a Michael Vick jersey for a $1 donation

my question was what is the benefit to michael vick? not what is the benefit to the humane society. the honest truth is that there is no benefit to michael vick. he won't be forgiven, he won't change any minds, it won't bring his career back or his endorsement deals and it won't undo the past.
