They've sold out every game for a few years but next year they get a new stadium with about 10,000 more seats.

Um yeah. I have better seats at home and save $275 per game. Not to mention parking, concessions etc etc. And when I have to use the toilet it's not some public toilet hundreds of nasty motherfuckers have shit on that day.

There's a lot to be said for atmosphere. I can watch hockey at home and get a way better view depending on the sight lines, but just BEING at the game is often an experience in itself.

You're right about the parking and concessions, but the sacrifice is worth it imo.

Now I've been to a couple of hockey games and I can tell you get a much better view of the game being at the game than on TV.

yeah hockey is kinda different I guess, small ice surface etc..

I think I'd honestly rather have good seasons tickets to watch the leafs lose than have an AMG benz or somethin

Again, that can depend on the site lines. Being 10 rows up on one blue line can make it difficult to see what happens in the far corner on the same side of the rink...especially if people start standing up. What IS nice about it live is seeing fights develop behind the play that you don't see on TV. All you see there is the fight.

That to me all comes down to the atmosphere I was talking about. Same as in football. Sure, you don't get the closeup view of the play like you would on TV, but for a real sportsfan, there isn't much better than when your team scores and you're there to celebrate with the crowd. TV can't duplicate that.

It's always nice to be able to enjoy the game at home, where youre comfortable and don't have some asshole behind you yelling and spilling beer on you all night, but experiencing a game live is just a good time.

The parking, the crowds, the price...all that shit is secondary if you have a good time.
