    Caught this guy sleeping on my patio and eating my food. (PICS AND VIDS)

    SO I wake up this morning around 730 and look out the window. Its raining. I find this guy looking around and eyeballing the empty tupperware dish that normally has unsalted peanuts in it. I go to the store and get coffee and a big phat bag of peanuts. When i come home I noticed that I had an older can of mixed nuts, macadamias, almonds, pecans from a while ago, so I made him a meal fit for a king. I love watching these guys fight and chase each other around when its nice in the big trees next to the house. There normally are 4 or 5 of them chilling out there. These guys are lovin me today.

    Sorry the window is dirty from the crazy rain last night.

                                          Good idea to fatten them up before eating them...



                                          BBQ Squirrel

                                          ~ 4 squirrels, quartered
                                          ~ 3 tbsp salt
                                          ~ 2 tsp pepper
                                          ~ 1 tsp garlic powder
                                          ~ 1 tsp onion powder
                                          ~ your favorite dry rub
                                          ~ 15 charcoal briquets
                                          ~ 3 handfuls hickory chips
                                          ~ your favorite bbq sauce

                                          In a large pot, boil the squirrel in water seasoned with the salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder for 1 hour or until tender.

                                          In the meantime, soak the hickory chips in water. Light the charcoal and let them get white hot. Place them to one side of your grill.

                                          Remove the squirrel from the water and pat dry. Coat with your favorite dry rub.

                                          Add one handful of wood chips to the hot coals.

                                          Place squirrel on grill across from the hot coals. Cover and smoke for 1 hour. Add a handful of wood chips every half hour.

                                          Add last of the wood chips and baste squirrel with bbq sauce. Smoke for another half hour basting another 3 - 4 times.

                                          Serve with mashed potatoes, sweet corn and buttermilk bisquits.
                                          Fried Squirrel
                                          1 Squirrel, cleaned and quartered
                                          1 Small onion, chopped
                                          2 Stalks of celery, chopped
                                          1 tsp. garlic powder
                                          Salt & Pepper to taste

                                          Place squirrel in pan and cover with water. Add onion and celery and season to taste. Boil squirrel for about 20 minutes. Remove from pan, rinse and let cool.

                                          Batter
                                          1 Cup flour
                                          1 Egg
                                          1/2 Cup of milk
                                          1 tsp. onion powder
                                          Salt and Pepper to taste

                                          Mix all ingredients together until you have a smooth batter. Place squirrel sections in batter and deep fry until golden brown.
                                          Serves 2

                                                              whats ironic is they came inside my house looking in the candy dish on the tv shelves next to my big screen in the summer time. i've been hooking them up for a year and a half. little fuckers probably ate 50lbs of peanuts already. lol. if i don't have any peanuts they sit out there and look at me until i go get some. literally for hours they will line up in front of the glass and sit on their asses with their hands in the air just staring in the house.

                                                                              some of them are big!! this one is a little guy. we have about 200 of them here in our condo complex. its a really nice resort style place, on the inside where the courtyards are, there are grips of them running around. they eat good here. lots of people feed them fruit and peanuts.

                                                                                                              There are tame possums around a park near where I used to live... one time I was walking home from a shop at about 1am and this cat wandered up to me and started sniffing my bag, so I said hello to it - then realised it was a possum!

                                                                                                              Another time I was eating a pizza on a park bench and a possum jumped right onto my lap.

                                                                                                              They're not really the sort of animal you'd want to get too close to, they have super sharp claws and make a pretty nasty hissing sound when they're angry...

                                                                                                              I think possums are native to Australia, and we don't have squirrels
