Umm.. actually.
I've been up for over 48 hours, I misread the thread title.
I thought this thread was about 'whose life you wanted to live'
Sorry about that. I definately wouldn't have wanted to kill dear ol' Jacques.
Now I feel bad inside. I admire Jacques Cousteau a lot. When I was a kid I wanted to be him, and actually thought about becoming a marine biologist... now I said I wanted to end his life.

Your admiration towards him may have turned into envious resentment that you couldn't BE him. It happens.
I believe that people emerge to suit the times that they live in. Thus Germany in the '30s was ripe for someone like AH and if he were eliminated, someone very similar would have appeared in his place.
Scientists Who Invented the Atomic Bomb under the Manhattan Project: Robert Oppenheimer, David Bohm, Leo Szilard, Eugene Wigner, Otto Frisch, Rudolf Peierls, Felix Bloch, Niels Bohr, Emilio Segre, James Franck, Enrico Fermi, Klaus Fuchs and Edward Teller.
Probably one of the best quotes of this time period:
"My God, what have we done?" - Robert Lewis, the co-pilot of the Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb.

Wow, so you'd have supported the projected loss of more than a million American lives in a mainland Japanese invasion?
And you'd have had Russia pushing the limits of the territory it claimed in Europe after ww2 much further than they did, making much more of that continent a Communist entity during the Cold War?
And you'd never have had us using nuclear subs to patrol the world or using nuclear power for residential and industrial uses?
Ahh, look I know nuclear energy has had its pluses but we all seem to forget that every night when we go to sleep on the other side of the globe Russians still have their trigger finger on about 7,000 nukes with US targets programmed in as the targets.
Take a deep breath Kimmy and really think about that. 7,000 nuclear weapons are only 30 minutes from giving us the suntan of a lifetime.

50 million people died between '39 and '45. I think I would take my chances on killing Hitler and seeing what happened different.
Oh and last but not least and then I'm off to bed -- even if the Russians did have 7000 left (I'd like to see the supporting facts on this since I can't believe its that many) you've got to realize that at least 6999 of them arent in working order ;)

EXACTLY! That's the scariest part of all. A nuclear arsenal that hasn't been well maintained.
Sounds comforting to me. I'm off to bed to. See ya in dreamland sexy!
Yep, I did an all nighter. Just walked the dog. Sun's up and I'm ready for bed.
And yep, dreamland is a fun place to rendevouz. Anything goes, you can float over to anywhere and anyone your imagination desires, and its all just a dream after you wake up.
