There were parents like that back in the 70's, 60's, and probably as far back as when the first pet store was opened. They are the types who also let their kids run around a restaurant like hellions, disrupting all the other patrons. God forbid anyone says a negative word in their direction regarding their little precious darlings, those 'idiot parents' start raising the roof.
It just seems like there's more of them around today.
