A roll is only 24 or 36 frames, most people can peel that off in a heartbeat on a digital. The motivation behind is to make you think heavily on the shot before you take it, and to develop the 'frame' in your head before you shoot.
That way, you can effectively walk around composing the photos in your head, and then just plonk down the camera, flick the settings and open the shutter
As a note, ignore my pomp, this is just what worked for me :D

Perrie, We love the pics. You cant go wrong shooting nature. Their is always something.
If your looking for a reasonability priced DSLR, We have a Sony A100. Its a really nice camera with some nice features. It's not a Nikon but for the money, it is well worth it.Comment

you can do the same with digital, its called self-control / restraint ;)
just because you can pull the trigger and shoot hundreds of shots without composition setup, doesn't mean you have to LOL
I agree with ya on the principal of having the mind and the eye to set up a shot.. otherwise, you can't really achieve the look/effect like Perrie has taken.

Film mandates that you shoot and receive results much later.
SuzieQ - the Sony Alpha is actually a Minolta - here's a head's up, you can throw on almost any Minolta A-type lens onto the body - meaning if you shop for Miltoa lenses as opposed to Sony ones, you'll be saving a large chunk of cash ;)Comment
