Most of the torrent movies that are released prior to or while the movie is in cinema's are usually the promotional copies that get sent out to various companies, etc to review the movie. You will see in 90% of them that every 30 minutes some 'promo only' message will pop up. Most aren't done by cam.
I suspect the owner of a certain convenience store to be obtaining copies of the movie by recording them from the drive-in screen 3rd showing and grabbing the audio directly from the FM channel. By 3rd showing I mean the one playing between 12 and 2 am, after everybody leaves. They play the first movie over again in case you missed it. This would help reduce the number of car lights you might see on the screen ;) Record 3 movies at once if you're bold and clever.
Or at least that's what I would do.
As for how to record the middle movie? Well you've all seen Fight Club, right? yeah....
In Mexico, they have booths in all the markets where you can find every movie you could ever care to own. And they all come in those really thin DVD boxes, and the disc inside is actually a copy they've made. Sometimes the title is even written on the disc in black marker, hehehe. They are almost always taken with a cam sitting in the theatre... and they are so shaky and the sound is so terrible, they aren't worth watching.
However, the copies that get distributed so that the people who judge awards shows can evaluate movies are fantastic ;)
