ur just solidifying my point, this basically happened with p2p already and the music industry and it changed nothing. torrent was the result.

and like i said theres always another source. unless the swiss change their laws around as of right now thepiratebay.com are not only untouchable, but theyre suing some of the largest companies in the world for fucking with their shit. and stand a good chance of winning thanks to media defenders huge leak on their activities and clients.

FYI, in Canada we don't just "adopt laws".

A good example was our courts telling the RIA to go fuck themselves, ruling that Canadian ISPs did not have to give over customer information from IP addresses.

We pay a tax on recordable media in Canada, paid to artists, to combat copyright infringement.

I said adapt but you probablly knew that. I really have no clue about how Canada does their legal system. I just figured that since they could make one of their own versions.

I know I do see that tax statement on many tv shows and movies made in Canada. Not sure about music as I have never purchased any Canadian music that I am aware of. Though I am not sure if say Canada's tax stuff also goes into video games and that sort of shit either.

Though on same thought Vancouver would nor NY would not even need to comply for the legal actions to start.

I don't mean to sound negative, its just that class actions rarely accomplish much.

They are going after the advertisers I quote:

"It's the wealth through the advertising that allows the site to remain. Ron Goldman LLC will never be able to stop these pirates from posting that book online but they can do that in the poorhouse," David Cook, Fred Goldman's lawyer, told AP.

Yeah, just the advertisers have lots of money already and law doesn't equal to justice..

That wasn't a solution or suggestion lol, just something that came into my head at the time of posting.

But unless people make efforts no change will come at all, even minor ones. Even if it sharing exists to some degree which is of course unavoidable, id rather make it 10 times harder for surfers to find and download than simply going to a tube site and hitting play on full length vids.

I think that knocking out the local tube sites is a good thing. Hitting hosts and so on will somewhat slow down the trend. Still, as others have mentioned, it just takes a server in Sweden and they are untouchable.

Going after the advertisers and processors is the key. The harder you hit their revenue streams, the less profit there is. This means if you see company's ads next to your full length video, you sue them. They are directly profiting off your copyrighted material. They are using the tube site as a way of laundering money by hiding behind them. The minute you start knocking off their options for revenue is when they have trouble staying afloat.

The 2257 regs alone should stop these guys dead in their tracks, end of story.
