1st, the thread is about syria.
2. the social structure is 2 classes- ruling class, the have's and the don't have much at all class.
3. you do not get that an ipad/electronic device is a LUXURY item. period. moreover, it is a luxury item with a fancy screen designed to play movies and show pictures.
4. so you think dropping a bunch of electronic luxury items on the lower class is going to somehow magically do what? create prosperity? completely change the class structure? how on earth would the ruling class allow that? that by allowing them to watch reruns of
fresh prince of beverly hills is going to save them? that by giving them access to information is equivalent to giving them some sort of tool for bettering themselves?
we're spoiled here, we think luxury items are the norm and are basic requirements to good living. they are not.
i won't even get into the fact that those people have not asked for our help in bringing them up out of the *doldrums* you think they are in. unsolicited *help*? no.
