    Optimum time for video teasers

    Hi y'all

Just wondered with all your guys experience - when doing a video teaser whats the best length of time to tease a user before you hit him with the upsell to see the locked content?

    Thanks!

Good discussion. Mr Peabody, why do you say 2 min, did you test it.

I actually don't do locked upsells tho I did try them a couple years back. For my content it's best to not do locked upsells. But others who do this say the "sweet spot" (to get someone to Join) is about 1-3 minutes. I know 3-5 minutes is the "sweet spot" for promo videos on tube sites while 2 mins is best for Blogs. So it all depends.

But, again, what works for one may not for another so the OP should test, test, test.

10min+ "trailers" on your tours will do magic for signups, according to a lot of people it seem, yet no one does it.

Look at the people who have mastered the craft... Hollywood. They are not too long ( 2 - 2 1/2 mins) and are wham, bam, thank you mam, and usually leave you wanting more. But that is for a 2 hour movie, so you can prob condense it down to less than that and still keep it moving.

I like 2+ minutes because it seems to be the magic number. If someone stays the whole 2 minutes, and then leaves, it doesnt really affect my bounce ratio.

If they hit another video then that's even better
