Unless you have clients doing onsite visits, the furniture doesn't earn you any money. Part of the dot com bubble was caused by companies building lavish offices that were completely unnecessary and artificially amping up their overhead to unsustainable levels. Showrooms and conference rooms need nice furniture. Billing offices need functional furniture that promotes efficiency and is NOT too comfortable. Having a big couch in a back office is a misguided incentive for employs to take naps...
