If someone on stage at a comedy club says something I may not agree with or find factually accurate... I let it go. Non-business-threads on GFY are no more than that. If the post was something that might impact the way business is done, affect where people send their traffic, impact the online business ecosystem or is germane to a discussion about an open topic...then I'm all for arguing the point (and have done so often with Minte and many others here).
1. Someone says 'I support gun control because my neighbor owns an atomic bomb' go ahead and debunk it. Someone gets accused of shaving sales or abusing consumers or stealing content, go ahead and raise hell about it.
2. Someone says 'my kid just graduated from college and I'm so happy for her' - either say congrats, or stfu and skip the thread. Their personal life doesn't require your analysis and their post has no relevance to you unless you take it upon yourself to become involved with it.
I really do hope that makes sense to you.
