Generations ago they discovered cures for awful diseases with comparatively less money and technology that pales in comparison to what we have today.
Science still can't explain how sap goes up a tree but they should have an end-all cure to cancer because they put their mind to it?

Generations ago they found cures for infectious diseases. Hereditary and degenerative diseases are a whole different proposition

Obviously I'm speaking of cancers that don't seem to have an external cause.

From my own fight with cancer i realised one thing: Health is the best merchantise in the world. All humans are consumables for a few very big fishes. They want us not deads neither totally healthy, just productives. We have to protect and keep ourselves healthy.

            Well said.

A few years back I went through a sciatic nerve issue - and in the end had to have surgery to correct it.

But before the surgery, I went the route of deep tissue massage with a therapist, chiropractic sessions and accupuncture - all for nothing. Despite the pain continuing to get worse through all this, they kept telling me they could "fix" it - knowing full well it would likely require surgery. But they got their slice of the revenue pie before my family doctor sent me for an MRI and properly diagnosed it. The family doc knew the problem from the start - the MRI showed the confirmation.

Through all the quack treatments (massage, chiro, accupuncture)...I began feeling like commodity...a "consummable" as you describe it. They milked the gravy train and dragged the process out to seven long months of constant pain before the surgery finally corrected it.
