according to trademark laws, so long as the site has nothing to do with the same business as thehun.net he can sell it or keep it, although he might just have fucked himself by marketing it to an "adult" webmaster board as it shows what his business intent is. now he's selling to the adult marketplace and as such he is probally gona lose it.
my advise, dont' even try and fuck the hun on this shit. If I was him I'd sue even if I didn't have a case just to hurt you for trying to fuck with him. This dog, is dog, a dog, good dog, way dog, to dog, keep dog, an dog, idiot dog, busy dog, for dog, 20 dog, seconds dog!

First, the disclaimer..I am not about to endorse the "riding on the tails" of anothers success for personal gain..instead I just wanted to point out some true legal facts.
Why do you people assume that the Hun can simply send out a letter from his lawyer and everything will grind to a complete halt. If the hun was to actually persue legal action, the court case would need to take place in the jurisdiction where the defendant lives. This is done so that a company can not simply put another company out of business by bringing legal action against them, and forcing them to fly to the plantiff's local to fight the charges, and incur the expenses.
Yes, the Hun or any other webmaster could bring forth a lawsuit, but there truly would be a fight if the accused webmaster knew his law. Plus, I find it hard to believe that if a case like this was brought against a U.S or Canadian webmaster, that a judge would be very sympathetic when they were to view the Hun's pages and see links to Bondage, ads which advertise The Nets Youngest Teens. Club Seventeen, Penis Pills, and the other assorted crap that normal citizens and respectable adult webmasters find repulsive.Last edited by 49thParallel; 07-21-2002, 08:50 PM.Comment

Getting stuff done in other countries is a bitch.
To all those that think a "lawsuit" is going to scrae anyone - especially someone from russia - you are mistaken.
I am not saying anything against the hun - he has a right to this name - even if it is a common word - for adult sites. He would/should win if it ever got to court. I can't even imagine how this would go in another country. The US passed a specific law on it, because trademark laws just weren't enough.
People think lawyers have all this power - they don't - especially outside their country.

nope you're wrong, and VERY WRONG AT THAT- go talk to a lawyer. You'll be SHOCKED at just how much the hun can do. Sure it costs several thousand dollars but do you really think the hun gives a shit about a few grand.Originally posted by 49thParallel

About the last post...anything to do with the hun simply maddens me. Ever since his rant about charging people to submit to his TGP, I have a personal distaste for the man. (Plus, a distaste for his advertising which I feel does a disservice to the adult industry).
As a side note...is there ANY cases ON RECORD which show a successful case brought against another where monteray damages were awarded in the TGP industry.Last edited by 49thParallel; 07-21-2002, 09:01 PM.Comment

Here we have a person who is bringing in an income far above what the average citizen could ever dream of. Then he complains because he has to wade through thousands of submissions a day. Courts will uphold the rights of adult webmasters - see for example:

P.S. Sleazy...time to brush up on your spelling...the fact that your signature lists a url with the word Flordia, instead of Florida greatly increases my respect for you. Damn man, you are definately one to reckon with...Last edited by 49thParallel; 07-21-2002, 09:21 PM.Comment

no damages.
I guess his isn't even technically a TGP.
Not all cases (in fact most) are not reported.
Most domain name disputes go through arbitration first - and all of those are reported.Comment

In Russia everything's for sale, even court.(especially court
)
I think that Hun can actually bring his case to the court and he can actually win it if he'll pay a couple of grans to the judge.
Another thing about russia, no one gives a fuck about laws there you can kill a man and walk away if you pay 1-5k $

Rant about charging people to submit to my TGP??? BOY did you miss the point by miles. Haha... that's patheticcally far off from what that "rant" was about. You can feel anything you want, but I do have a large following who all do buy memberships every now and then. So a lot of people make money through my site. Maybe I don't add anything to YOUR way of making money, but please don't translate to utter crap like me being a disservice to the industry, that's a joke!Originally posted by 49thParallel

hehe it's not only the Russians.....
I just looked for some others and it seems that some germans run http://thehun.ch/ and it's porn related same for http://thehun.de/
You can't tell me your not aware of it.... expecialy the .de domain.Comment

You take who's money? By my knowledge you're not taking anything.
I am aware of a few domains out there, thehun.ru, thehun.de, thehun.cd, thehun.ws. One by one we're taking 'em, I think I already own thehun.ws.
Don't count on "bluf" too much. It's a very thin wall to protect yourself behind. How much do you think you make from that domain? On all boards you have been posting, everywhere the same result. You have been mailing pretty much everybody in this industry. I must give you credit for that: you know how to get the word out. But NOBODY is interested in this domain except me. And I'm not going to buy it from you, you're going to give it to me. I don't waste my time bluffing to scumbags like you. I have more important things to do, like fishing or walking the dogs. You will be in bigger financial trouble than you can handle. Why? 'cause you're greedy... Back out while you still can.Comment
