    Editing videos

...is a slow boring process...at least for me it is. I only have a pentium III 1000 megaherzt processor. How much more speed would I pick up if I had a better processor...significant or just alittle...or does it depend on the software one is using or is it both?

It depends on the specs of the software. There is too much of a good thing. It is possible to over do it, and end up with the same problem you have now. Best thing to do is check the software specs and build accordingly.

Need lots of ram and processor for sure. You can also speed up the encoding process a lot but using software like ffmpeg.

The worldwidecontent guys are fast, reliable, and affordable though. So if it's really that much of a pain... i'd outsource it =)

Do you think it would cut the time involved by 50%...if not what percentage would you estimate?

well how long does say a 30min scene take you now?
besides the obvious 30mins to view it at the least and the time to capture it
