what do you think of .mov format

I like it personally that h.264 is crisp and clean... I think most computers and surfers now a days can play those vids what do you think of a .mov format for galleries, hosted galleries, and members area.. as the only format...

dont like it, dont play it, i dont know if it just me but i always found .mov slow and choppy in the way it plays.

i do not think most people are able to play it and with the amount of spyware and virus crazyness out there people are less likely to download extra formats of anykind.

not to sure why you would take the risk of losing surfers, mpg or stream with flash.

My opinion: It's the crappiest container after rmvb .... I personally like to deal with avi (divx or xvid) and mkv matroska is always nice ....... however for porn sites is better to go with wmv, flv, mpeg or avi.....

I don't like it. I do prefer wmv over mpg though.

I hate Quicktime as there exists no tool to auto-split the clips without re-compression like AVI, WMVs, Real and MPEGs can be with a shareware tool like Boilsoft Splitter. (VideoCharge can't do it either even though it is supposed to...)

A girl once told me "Give me 8 inches and make it HURT".

So, I fucked her twice and hit her with a brick.

h264 is the best compression to quality retention ratio, but it's not that universally used. I use it in my members area, and i get fan mail all the time about the quality of them. The same video compressed in WMV to the same file size looks horrible (by my personal standards).
However, not everyone is capable or willing to work with Quicktime, so I've started offering things in the WMV format as well, because it's the most universally compatable format.
My least favorite formats are avi, divx and rm.

the only problem with using h264 with another player is finding the right codec and installing it, which is complicated for some users.

                          Don't use wmv > 9.

As mov for the only format in members area then NO.
I love qt and h264. Can make some really nice looking movies. I would use it on sites with hd. But along with wmv and flash too.

avi/xvid great too and can be a cool option if you want to offer movies that can be played on tv`s without having to work with the file after download.

The safe choise for members would be wmv, flash, mpg and any avi type.
I`m going with wmv and flash in my members area.
