There's a few schools of thought, submissions for 404 traffic, trades and bought traffic seem to be the most tried and true methods. Also make sure you link to it with all your sites (that allow it).

If you look into buying traffic or buying gallery passes/spots for the 404 (and sales) let me know, I can hook you up with some decent deals.
