Greg, my whole point is that your ten-dollars-lower counter-offer casts doubt on your readiness or ability to make a serious offer for a good domain.

I don't know you, for all I know you're a domain mogul with a multi-million dollar portfolio. But when you ask people to list some domains for you, it helps if you give some hint about how serious you are. There are a TON of people on GFY who think $300 is a huge price to pay for a domain.

My point -- delivered in GFY-style rude shorthand -- was that by proving that you have the time to dick around with a counter-offer ten dollars lower than some guy's asking price, you were calling your own seriousness (and ability to make serious offers) into question.

As it happens I wouldn't take the domain in question at registration price, much less pay somebody a premium for it. But If I wanted it bad enough to dicker for it at all, I wouldn't dream of wasting somebody's time with a counteroffer ten dollars lower.

I do have some pee domains that I think are (together or in combination) worth a few grand to the right buyer. You can find 'em listed at eroticadollars.com if you're more serious than the present dicking-around suggests.
