UK Webmasters - room for a slingbox?

Anyone in the South-East got room for a www.slingbox.com at their place?

It's about the size of a brick, and needs broadband and TV feed.

In return, I will pay half your domestic Broadband costs.

Yes and no. The Canaries are just outside of the sky footprint, which means that you can pick up some channels like UK Style etc, but not the "main" ones (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4) - unless one invests in a huge dish which costs thousands and looks ugly...

That's where I am now and could drive by to deliver it. Am leaving UK early tomorrow so timewise cannot make it to the North.

Other alternative would be to send it via post...

There are many flaws in this plan of yours...

Firstly those sling boxes slow down the internet to a mere crawl for who ever agrees to this. (the host)

Secondly, Who is going to control what channel you're going to watch ? Because Both can..

Are you sure you can't get one of those big ass dishes? I lived in Marbella last year and we were ok (now live in Benidorm)

If you're determined to go down this route, I'd get a non internet friend/family member to set up both in their house and you pay the FULL costs

The slingbox is not a slave - ie, the host can watch any channel irrespespective of the slingbox viewer and vice versa.

When my Mum (RIP) had it, it did not seem to slow the internet down at her end...

As for those megadishes, if we owned where we live, possibly, but we don't so no...

You must have a different sling box to me then or maybe the technology has moved on (1 year ago) because I was stuck watching the same channel as the host. or visa versa..

The sling streams at 200 to 500kbs so of course it slows shit down..
