Looking at my stocks right now I sware

"I will NEVER buy any stocks in my whole life again!"

All those top SOLID stocks - from my point of view BULLSHIT!

    What's your opinion concerning stocks???

Sorry I am quite angry right now but I had to post this to cool down...

i just can't believe that $134 billion in market cap was wiped out in one day not too mention a few trillion over the past 2 years. Isn't that like more than the entire GNP of Europe and South America wiped out?

I made some money and then got out over a year ago. I would buy again, but not right now. Maybe in late 2004, depending on the political climate.

Not sure, maybe if the stocks I own now ever reach the Sell zone again then maybe I would actually buy some again....

I just pulled all my winners a few weeks ago....just in time too. i'm gonna wait for bottom and reinvest periodically....probably in the same stocks too! stocks will be back up for sure, the whole point of investing in stocks is for long term appreciation. even with a couple of down years, overall your money will grow a shitload by the time you're ready to retire. if you don't have the stomach for it, then perhaps you should stick to real estate investments.

KC....i aint' talking soon but yes, it will catch up again in SEVERAL YEARS and then beat it's high eventually, and go down again and backup again. The key is to pick the right stocks or the right industries and either try to time it right or just keep investing X amount every single month. My finance teacher once said if you can pick winners 51% of the times, you'll be a millionaire....just gotta think retirement money, not quick cash. I mean if you can invest $200 a month and double your' money every 10 years...and you're only 20 or 30 or even 40, who cares if you lose 20% or even 40% during bear markets....you'll retire with tens of millions....just grab the knife once it hits the groud and start investing

you are right if GE says they found a mistake it will have a major effect, thats why you buy long term 3-5 years the changes of GE going under are not as great but yes its a risk anything with the market is a risk since so many things have an effect on it

If you want to make money in stocks right now - SHORT. Most stocks have been cut in half in a months time, a lot even sooner. Always do your research, but that's where the money is made right now.

My Vangaurd account is relatively low yield (I stopped high yield accounts as I aged), so I have not been affected much by the fluxuations. I take out a monthly amount and roll the remainder back into the account and it continues to grow.

today is when you wanna buy! i wouldn't dump all your money in, but increase the % of stocks in your portfolio with solid companies.

Some analysts say that the market is entering a stagnation phase similar to the 70's. If this is true, its probably not a good idea to enter the market for a long time. I would start by paying attention to the average PE.

Market corrections are good. I wish they'd fall farther so I could buy more right now.

I have always been pleased with Vanguard, but at my age I am not into taking financial risks, thus as I stated I have slow growth, but then again I take a substantial amount out monthly and still have growth.

That's what you're supposed to be doing at your stage in life.

I have years until I need my retirement money. I can pour everything into stocks right now, so when I get the chance to, I do. A couple of market wide stock mutual funds, a couple of more narrow ones and a few select individual stocks. Bonds for me is a waste of time and money at this point, whereas for you, you need income more than growth.

Keep dropping, baby! 5000 or bust!

Vanguard rocks. Lowest expense ratio in the industry. Vanguards index funds are a beautiful thing for long term investors.
