Barack Obama is no genius, I listen to him without a script and he is not impressive. He wouldn't have been at Harvard if not for the color of his skin. He wasn't a standout during his time at a Chicago law firm. He's a very confident guy, and has some charisma.
My guess is Obama and Bush would score pretty close to each other on an IQ test.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
"During the last presidential campaign Mr. Sailer estimated from Mr. Bush's SAT score (1206) that his I.Q. was in the mid-120's, about 10 points lower than Al Gore's."
fairly high IQ for Bush. 95th percentile.

Yep. Funny how so many people think he's just a dumb redneck.

If it weren't for Bush's daddy he would have been lucky to be a janitor mopping floors at an adult arcade.
I don't think Bush is dumb. He's from the NE and ivy league schooled. That whole Texas thing was to get the rednecks behind him because they will believe anything.
I personally think Bush's problem was that he had a vendetta against Saddam because of his Dad, he was too friendly to special interests (and his friends) and listened too much to self-serving Cheney.
Edit: I do think that if he were not part of the Bush family few of us would know who he is.

Shit son, that ain't no thang, I get 1206 in my sleep!
btw, in response to the thread, I think Obama would score much much higher than Bush on an IQ test

no kidding, 1200 isn't high at all, it's bare minimum required to get into any reasonable school, for a school like Harvard you need at least 1400 to have a realistic chance of getting accepted...

Bush the previous Governor of Texas is about as smart as the current Governor of Texas Rick Perry. Both of those guys killed during the debates that they were in, right?
IQ isn't one of the top 5 things a good president needs....
IQ doesn't measure decision making ability, character, the ability to communicate, empathy or the ability to handle pressure.
When the ability to conceptualize which side of a folded box is shaded correctly in diagram three becomes relevant to being president, then IQ might matter. Until then, give me someone who is well-read, has overcome adversity, knows how to communicate and can be at their best when things are at their worst. FDR, Bobby Kennedy, Lincoln, Churchill and Ed Koch were terrific leaders... Not because of a superlative IQ.
