No warning, no chance to surrender... just open fire. It's not a "mistake" that kind of shit is blatant disregard for other's lives and should carry an attempted murder charge.
Everybody, especially police officers, need to be sure of what they are doing before opening fire. You cant shoot someone and just say you "thought" it was someone else and get away with it. You cant just go on a shooting spree on every truck you see just because a suspected killer also happens to drive a truck.

Has there been much discussion about this? As you said, right from the outset the cops have been acting as though they can do anything and get away with it.
Once Dormer is dead, I really hope the cops who shot up those cars lose their jobs and get booked into prison for a few years.
