As far as I know those pics are real. But. as much as I despise that freak, he was a kid those times and I don't think he had much of a choice. Before he became pope he was head of the inquisition and as such he sent out pretty fucked up orders regarding child abuse within the church. That is something to hold against him. For boys, being in the Hitler Youth was pretty much like being in the Boy Scouts and no one escaped from it.

He was in Hitler Youth, he was a kid and had no choice, neither did his family, unless they wanted to be killed. He wasn't a Nazi nor were any members of his family. The German people do bear considerable responsibility for Hitler, but to think all Germans were behind him is wrong - even many Nazis realized, albeit too late, that he was out of his mind.
