sorry. habeas corpus was also suspended in WWII, & in that case, 2 americans were sent to jail outside a civilian system of justice:

fact is, the war on terrorism is a wishy-washy term that gives the government a gaping loophole to use terror to suspend due process for americans. People who hate everything the government does, the tea baggers, gun nuts, ron paul dead enders, will rail against this. Libertarian leaning liberals will also have a hissy fit.
