I was going to get one, then I saw one at a buddies house. Personally I love their smart TVs, but I think that 3D TV is over rated and gimmicky. I don't think it will last or get that much content.

Hmm... I seem to see 3D being the new rage, more and more of it is being produced. We've already got top of the line blue-ray player from harman/kardon, so I'd think that would be a good match.
Sure the "convert 2D to 3D crap" is not something I believe is very good, but 3D made cartoons for kids should make them happy

3D was a con a few years ago to scam people who had recently bought a flat panel telly into buying another.
The scam is over.
There were next to no companies pushing 3D at CES this year. 4k is the new thing.
There's next to no 3D content, you have to wear the stupid glasses and it's basically a load of bollocks.
As suggested a top of the line new smart tv would be better.
I've still no interest in 3D. Why i would need it at home i have no idea. The silly glasses, and just.......No!
Think i've watched 3 movies at the cinema in 3D. After about 20mins, i just wanted to take the damn glasses off and watch it like a normal movie. Some effects are 'ok', but i really don't see the big deal.
Can't see me ever replacing my home televisions with 3D ones...

Well I guess it was kinda silly of me to ask lol, the misses wanted one when we crossed the store... so I am setting it up now and it's updating software as I type this
Looks cool so far, easy to use and has a ton of gadgets to come along with... for more than 2K USD it better!

I predict that in 6 months you won't be using the 3D function anymore....

I have two of the 55" models. One in the living room, one in the bedroom. DirecTV has a few 3D channels but most are PPV. The nature shows in 3D are pretty slick, especially the underwater stuff. The sports are cool in 3D. The superbowl converted to 3D is ok, the shots from the sidelines arent all that great but when the camera angles rotates to looking down the field, it looks really cool.
I have to make my room pretty dark with no visible light source in my field of view while wearing the glasses, otherwise the flickering gets to be bothersome because the tv and the glasses flicker at the same time so you dont notice it, while light coming from a window or lamp doesnt flicker, which makes it appear to flicker because of the glasses.
