    Let's play the"would this be illegal" game

    It's okay to trade stock based on a public promotion.

    Would it be okay to trade based on knowing when one was going to happen before ANYONE else knows?

    My first thought would be, no.. It'd be insider trading
    BUT
    Would it really be so since you wouldn't actually have inside about fundamentals of the actual company?

          If you knew about a stock promotion before it happened.. Say, as in, something like this: the promoter told you.

              Yeah, illegal a lot, all the way around. Conspiracy first comes to mind, followed by charges of fraud, illegal stock manipulation..........it only gets worse from there.

                                  The entire stock exchange system is unethical and immoral to begin with, so as far as I am concerned, if you can get away with it, fine. You'd be doing nothing different than the Big Boys!

                                          Only my luck is to end up being made an example of, so I try to stay clear of doing anything illegal If I would let myself break laws I'd have unfathomable amounts of money.
