I would suggest you don't do a tube, there are plenty of them out there and it is only a matter of time before something is done to shut them all down.

To be honest, I don't like tube sites as well, but it seems to be the only way to spend 3 minutes daily with my site.

Yea more than 1000 sites created :-) currently you can use video player ads and plugrush widgets/pops for the tube sites.

Tube sites aren't going anywhere. Sure ones breaking the law will be taken down, but just because of the sheer amount of content on them doesn't mean they will be shut down. There's no legal obligation that requires them to be taken down.

In response to the OP, I'd go with HostedTube, PimpRoll is great and has a wide variety of content and it's crazy customizable.
