    Talk to me about Barcelona

    The good, the bad, the ugly... and by "ugly" I mean the realllly good.

    I'm going there for The European Summit. I'm stoked as hell because Andreas & Walter always put on incredible shows in Prague, but this is my first time going to Barcelona. I typically need a good month minimum between shows and this year the timing with AVN and Phoenix forum works out well for me.

    So please let this virgin have it... any advice... warnings... secrets, etc. I know it's nearly 2 months out, but fuckit... i'm excited...

      Interested too. I heard the women are awesome since it borders so many ethnically diverse countries. That place seems like a dream, that needs to be made reality!

                  One of the most beautiful cities that I have seen. Architecture wise, it is unlike anywhere else I have been in the world. The city drips with art and that is most evident in the buildings. We are so conditioned to think the outward walls of a building should be straight up and down. Apparently, the folks in Barcelona didn't get the memo.

                  Also, take advantage of the siesta culture and get out and night and experience a city that is really alive well into the wee hours.

                  If you like people watching and/or local foods, take a walk through La Boqueria market. It is right off the Ramblas.

                  Oh and remember, they are in Catalonia ..and they mean it

                              I went to Barcelona on personal trip back in 2008 but am excited to go again cause I'm extending trip a few days to spend with friends.

                              In regards to back to back shows.....invest in some kick ass multi vitamins and don't be shy to sanitize frequently cause getting sick during, before and after the shows (as you should already know Jay) is awful. lol

                                              Yes pickpockets, mainly on the metro. Cabbies for the most part are fine. From the airport dont accept rides from random dudes offering inside the airport (thats a given) just go to the taxi line.

                                              The kicker here J is that the show isnt actually in Barcelona. In past years it has, but this year for whatever reason its being held in Sitges, which is about 40 minutes by train from Barcelona, and maybe a 80-100 euro cab ride.

                                                              I love Sitges aswell though, best peach I've ever eaten in my life was in Sitges.

                                                              Lived in Barca for 2 years, wonderful city. Cant stand the language though .
                                                              Petty crime has got alot worse in the center though. Romanians mainly.

                                                                      Take lots of money - Its not like the rest of Spain as far as prices go.

                                                                      Sitges is a great place, but it is VERY gay - You would not be safe LAJ .

                                                                          Spent a few days there and it was totally off the hook. The city never stops. If you get off the main track and they invite you on stage, you had better think first as this ain't the states.

                                                                                      Indeed, i was there couple years ago and saw 2 women getting their wallet stolen in the Subway! Just make sure you keep your wallet in your front pockets.
                                                                                      Took a cab only once, Buses and Subways are everywhere. We did have a local guide hanging out with us, met him at the Hostel we were staying at, good times

                                                                                      I strongly recommend you check out Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and maybe a (real) football game and the Camp Nou if there is one while you're there

                                                                                          so Stephen (JuicyAds CSR UK division) was walking back to the hotel in the wee hours a bit tipsy last year when a stranger started chatting him up. Stephen was no beginner when it came to protecting his personal belongings, he put them deep within his front pants pocket. he had his passport and wallet safely tucked next to his family jewels. suffice to say, Stephen had to spend a couple extra days in the city because the nice fellow passing by had nicked his passport and wallet and maybe his phone..have to check. we tease him now about not knowing someone had their hands in his pants. he swears he never felt a thing.

                                                                                                          Insurance rarely pays for crime (unless yo uare actually hurt and need medical attention). Anyway - its mostly common sense not to get robbed (unless you are drnk and lost your sense)
