I like to take an old couch out into the country and then I take a 2x4 and destroy the couch.
Another good way to turn the mood nice is to take 1 cup of atomized aluminum, 2 cups iron oxide (rust) and a 6 inch strip of magnesium. Build a little mound with your well mixed powders and place the strip into the center like a birthday candle.
Now come up with a clever way of igniting the magnesium. Water works, fuse, whatever. (yeah, water and magnesium actually cause fire so at this point you should know that using a hose to put a magnesium fire out is kind of stupid as it will actually increase the reaction)
Now I hope you put your mixture on top of someones car. Center of the hood is good. The ensuing fire will be around 2000+ degrees. It will be very fast and you should not look directly at it. Very dark sunglasses and 100 feet will help. A welders mask is even better. You don't need the entire mask. Just the glass will do.
At the end of the reaction you should have burnt a rather large whole through your friends hood, engine block and possibly the concrete below the car. Watch out when the concrete is really thick because under heat it tends to explode (lots of little rocks flying at 3000 feet a second (again, 100 feet)).
After the reaction is over you and your buddy can laugh at the puddle of molten metal under his car.Comment

Also note... Powdered metals are sold by weight. Aluminum weighs MUCH MORE than iron oxide. So make sure to order 3 times the amount of aluminum that you think you need.
example... If you order 3 pounds of iron oxide and think 1 1/2 pounds of aluminum will do, you are sadly mistaken. You will get what looks like a small Chinese take out box of aluminum but a pale of iron oxide.
Since you need a 1 to 2 mixture you won't have nearly enough aluminum. So order 3 to 4 pounds...Comment
