I remember when they made the blues bros. There were over 40 blues mobiles but I can't remember the exact number. They contracted with local bodyshops to come out for shooting to repair cars enough to get them out the door and driving again.
Bondo was generally applied with cement trowels and then the car was sprayed with paint and allowed to dry for a couple hours then back on the set.
I have to laugh when I see this movie still when there are several scenes when the blues mobile wrecks into another car and you can see a huge chunk of bondo come off in one piece.
