I feel bad for the city of Sacramento. They did support the team even though they may well have the worst arena in the NBA.
From what i have read, the Maloof's bankroll was nuked during the financial crisis (due primarily to their ill-timed expansion of the Palms).
Had they kept their powder dry, the story might be different.Last edited by DTK; 01-20-2013, 08:41 PM.Arguing whether the Democratic or Republican party is better is like debating which steaming pile of shit is slightly less stinky.Comment

the prior article i read said something about 6 weeks to find a buyer to keep it in sacramento or something. i will try to find it. Banner thing makes sense. Since that actually is the same franchise.
"Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson said last week that he had received approval from NBA commissioner David Stern to present a counteroffer to the league from buyers who would keep the team in Sacramento. Johnson had said the city is in a "six-week sprint" to put together a proposal for the NBA's Board of Governors to consider over a potential sale and relocation to Seattle."
This is what I read. The rest of the article says a done deal basically. 1 or 2 seasons in old Sonics Stadium while new one is built.Last edited by Supz; 01-20-2013, 08:46 PM.Comment

As a long time Kings fan, this is a sad day for me. Sad but expected as the Maloof's have been trying to move the team for yrs now.
There's a lot more to the story than that. The Maloof's have really fucked over the city on many levels. I will be happy to see them out of the NBA, even if it means losing my team to another city.I feel bad for the city of Sacramento. I agree they should have been out of the NBA years ago. They lost their bankroll and have been inexplicably hanging on for far too long.Last edited by DTK; 01-20-2013, 08:55 PM.Arguing whether the Democratic or Republican party is better is like debating which steaming pile of shit is slightly less stinky.Comment

Hopefully the new owners in Seattle can do a better job this time around. Only time will tell.Comment
