You want quality lighting equipment, quality photography equipment, and color calibration / correction work. If someone does all of this for you then you do end up saving $$$ in the long run because you didn't have to buy all that equipment or do all that work to get the photos you want.
I'd advise that you to also shoot video simultaneously. Two birds one stone.
the question requires more details for a qualified answer. $2k is a lot, but some portrait photogs with big names are probably that high, generally adult shooters are less costly.

come invest all the time and money it takes to be a good shooter and see how many dbags don't wanna pay shit for photos. you get what you pay for. what are the usage rights needs to be the main question.
