    How much do you know about Chinese copycat brands ？

    google.com = baidu.com?
    facebook.com = renren.com? qq.com?
    reddit.com = douban.com?
    youtube.com = youku.com?
    Google Maps = sogo Maps? Baidu maps?
    ICQ+MSN+skype = QQ ？
    twitter = sina weibo?
    antivirus program +browser = 360 ？

    ......

    Most people in China have never heard Of google facebook. baidu.com is the only search engine in their computer..Even if they know that could search many fake and false information .they can tolerate lost of false advertising because they use free software .they having being raped by many fake things in their computer but never gave action .I think this is the real Chinese character .

      Its not Chinese peoples character, but instead the encouraged behavior by the Chinese government as it supports a few of its own business elite/communist party members.

              All of Google product was down in China. that of course includes Google Maps （IP was blocked）. now here are a lot of maps .that include not only sogo maps and baidu maps. but also mapbar maps ,soso maps ,etc., They copy the techniques of Google maps and become their own products .

                  and they are also taking over the world... southpark was right

                  here in the Caribbean, I think they are the richest ethic group... work 12 hours a day, low profile, dress cheap, eat rice while they own most local bars and supermarkets, real estate...

                      As the largest SNS in China .qq.com is the king of plagiarism .it was the first to succeed in this kind of business model innovation – it built a simple me-too tool into a social networking empire no rival managed to break into for years. if somebody/team make creative products .QQ will use their speedy mimicry killing the somebody/team and then replace them. Larger fish devour the smaller ones.and never worry about the legal responsibility .

                                                  Wechat is also getting more and more popular. Most Chinese people I deal with are on Wechat. It's a Kakao clone (which is what all the Koreans use).

                                                              There is a big difference between a copycat and an innovator. Of course the Chinese probably never care if they are one step behind other countries. Their country is so big, they have their own world and only need to compare inside their own world. They never need to look outward to compare. They do have one reason to look outward though, and that is to consume what the rest of the world has to offer... and that's really the only reason we ever cross paths.
