I don't see how a game could really be "that addicting" and I've played quite a few. Well I guess if your life really sucks ass it could be addicting but so could anything else that can take your mind off your sucky life.
As for it being good, it's alright obviously they have about 9 million subscribers. I played for bit when it first came out, it's really made for people who've never tried a mmorpg and like their games on easy mode.
If you want to try a mmorpg that's not easy and makes you think try http://www.eve-online.com/ (there's a trial).

I don't play but I know someone that plays. If I go to his place to see his roomate, he just stays in his room with his headset all the time and doesn't get out because he is "raiding" or something else.
If you know someone that plays, don't be surprised to see them in front of their computers, in boxer-briefs all day long, with a messy desktop full of crap. Also don't be surprised if they stay all night long playing.

It's addictive at first, and then you think "what the fuck am I doing on this piece of shit" and quit. Well I did anyway. Its an alright game but your time is better spent doing basically anything else. To be good on it or have a good character you must play like 6hours a a day atleast.Comment

I tend to go on binge WoW sessions.
You can do the free 10 day trial but I'll warn you that when you very first start it seems BORING. About lvl 15ish you realize how expansive and amazing the game is (but really you have no idea).Comment

Incredibly addicting, I stopped playing like 2-3 years ago... Found I was spending waaaaay to much time playing. Once i hit level 60 (which was the top at the time).
