    PPS vs Revshare

In the past most of my traffic was from search engines. In my experience that traffic was best suited to revshare in the long run. I'm now entering the tgp arena. I was wondering people's thoughts on if they thought PPS might be better for this type of traffic.

I've had people literally rebill for years after I quit promoting a program. Those tray checks that keep coming in are so nice!

These days you have to factor in the chances of a sponsor still deciding to pay you a few months down the road. In the past I've always made at least double using rev-share.

Years ago I stuck to revshare and had no problem getting members to rebill. Now-a-days, I tend to promote more PPS. Most, if not all of my ccbill sales recently have canceled almost immediately. Seems like surfers are more conscious lately and cancel just as fast as they sign up. If they like it, they'll sign up again and do it all over except for the fact the actual paysite gets the type-in, not my site.

From my experience revshare is is the best. I don't think it matters what type of site you have. Just getting signup is a little harder these days so you may make less on the front end but the potential is more if you get a whale. It still feels good to get a check that you are not expecting from a program you no longer promote or forgot about. Why not mix it up and do both?

A lot of people here are saying revshare but it really depends on the program. Often times PPS programs have a lot of upsells, crossells, etc that you wont get credit for.

The PPS amount a program offers is going to be what's profitable to them taking all of the revenue a signup brings and not only rebills.

PPS all the way. Gimme my money upfront so I don't have to worry about you paying me down the track and so I can reinvest it immediately to scale up. In 2012 and beyond I would only use revshare if there's no other option (e.g. most casino sponsors).

                            It depends on the paysite/sponsor.
if paysite's members area updates regularly then customer will stay active for long time so in this case Rev-Share is best.

or if the paysite has stopped updating their members area then PPS is best.

it depends on the niche really and also what the rev the sponsor offers compared to PPS...

I always recommend to my affiliates that they go revshare, we don't pay big $$ on PPS. Our best affiliates earn far more per month on rebills than initials (once they've been with us for a few months).

It depends on a lot of things; the program, content, costs for the end user, how do they rebill, when is the rebill?, quality of your own traffic, etc.

But also important is how often you get paid from the program, because you want to get your earnings asap, so you can invest again.

We usually advice the promoter to test both and then they will evaluate after some time.

NB. I speak for mobile subscribtions!

Good luck with the choise of your businessmodel!

                                    Regards,

Revshare all the way. I always preferred it because it just seemed really fair, but I like it even better all the time.

Especially now, the revshare sponsors don't tend to go out of business and stop paying. The PPS sponsors either depend on average math on what a member is worth, which has declined since the economy tanked. Or they depend on card-banging or selling emails etc. which makes your bookmarkers stop buying.

And, of course, a happy revshare customer is going to bring in more dough.

Yes, revshre programs close with no pay too, and most are revshare so most closed are revshare too. Some people think: how a program can fail if that pay revshare? They pay only a % of sales so can never go in loss. But this is so wrong, as programs can waste money (up to miss cash to pay revshare) in the most stupid ways

Of course the PPS requires lots of in advance cash, the program will pay the affiliates on day 1 more than what's the total sales, so PPS it means loss on program launch and perhaps for first year too. But on long run, a PPS program which does not fail, it is more stable and profitable than a revshare one. Simply because there's no revshare to pay every month, the customers are acquired and their sales it is all yours - for cams it is so good. The PPS it is like a legalized shaving: you tell affiliates honestly, and they agree, that you will not pay them the "rebillings", and in case of cams, we're a small site and got already more than one guy who spend $100,000 alone... and paid $75-$80 PPS to acquire it, let's pay cam girls $50,000 their part, that's some $49,900 profit with 1 signup - do a dozen of those signups, you not even need so many users on the long run.
