    Do Any Of You Remember This Beer?

    It used to be my favorite beer long ago.

    I tried to find it when I was in Amsterdam a few years back, but no one had heard of it....

          That's an export market bottle. Local version is Brand Pilsener.

                      Brand is a local Dutch beer from the south, you get it in almost every bar. It means 'fire' in Dutch. Usually the top brands are Heineken, Hertog Jan, Bavaria and Brand. The bottles and logo are green but it's usually bought in metal crates.

                              That bottle is pre 1991...

                              Btw around 1995 the new owner of Brand (Heineken) changed the recipe. It lost its special taste

                                                  I said it was a beer I remember from long ago. I used to drink it in the mid eighties. At the time it was definitely my favorite beer. I guess it disappeared in the mid nineties, when they changed hands, as you point out.

                                                  It was a dark beer in a white ceramic bottle.
