    Bluetooth/Skype battery drain

I use the following earpiece with Skype and my laptop: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o04_s00_i00

I use it only for calls. It would stay charged all day long, and some days more, with no problem. Then about two weeks ago it started fully draining after 3-5 hours. It's as if the earpiece is no longer going in standby mode and is completely in active mode for the full-time, as 3-5 hours is the listed talk time for this piece.

I thought it might have been a bad earpiece, so I ordered another copy of the same one and am having the same exact problem. My thought is that either Skype is keeping the connection open or my laptop is keeping the connection open. I have looked around in various settings but not really seeing anything.

Has anyone seen or experienced anything like this before?

If you are sending / receiving messages on your skype it may send the "audio" notifications to your Bluetooth so it never goes to "sleep"
Under Skype settings you can define where to send the audio (at least on mac)
      I buy plugs

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the setting you are speaking of? There are a few similar settings.

I just noticed that when somebody sends me a Skype message, my earpiece also gets the little audio alert, so you could be right but I can't find where to turn that off.

Skype murders the battery on my android. I can literally kill it within about 45 minutes without even using Skype. Uninstalled and moved on. I'd rather just use logmein to remote into my desktop if I need to.
