    War Over Oil?

    Who'da thunk it?

    In Iraq, Exxon oil deal foments talk of civil war



    With their opposing armies massed on either side of the contested border dividing southern and northern Iraq, leaders in Baghdad and the semiautonomous Kurdistan region are warning that they are close to civil war - one that could be triggered by Exxon Mobil.

                  I don't think there is going to be a war, since US has found lot of oil in Arctic sea, infact they don't need support from Arab world.

                          it was not about the oil!!!! it was about the non existent WMD saddam had and it was about keeping 'merica safe! defending "freedoms"...

                          insurgents don't have rights to "freedoms" because they are all terrorists...

                          the fact that 500.000 people were butchered to death with machettes in rwanda in a few days and nobody lifted a jet has nothing to do with the fact that they have no oil... you see rwanda did not have invisible WMD like saddam had!...so it was no threat to 'merican "freedoms"...

                              It's always been about oil like everybody else is posting. BUT making the Americans out to be the bad guys read your history, it's colonialism and it was a show run by the British Empire which sowed all the seeds for what the Americans now deal with. Don't forget the Dutch, Shell Oil - when the Brits were no longer capable of handling things in the Middle East, America inherited all the problems and that includes the headache that is Israel. Maybe people would be happy to have Russia and China in control of the Middle East - that should work out real well.

                              The Middle East would be the same bloodbath it's been for thousands of years whether the US was involved or not. Take out Israel and it would be the same. Take away all the oil and it would still be the same bloodbath, the rest of the world just wouldn't care.

                                                  The US/Britain would prefer that nobody touches the oil in the Arctic as they don't want more oil out the ground and onto the market; scarcity is important to prop up the price of oil. They want control of any oil wells already flowing and of any other oil rich areas where someone else (i.e. not Global Bankers) is thinking of drilling for oil.

                                                  It's about controlling the flow of oil i.e. stopping new oil and controlling what's already flowing.
